Where the light of dusk meets the soul of fado and the flavours of Lisbon.
Discover the soul of fado in a venue where tradition lives on. Originally founded as an academy, the Associação do Fado Casto passes the art of the Portuguese guitar and song from master to apprentice.
Housed in a Pombaline building above the ruins of the Roman Theatre in Alfama, its history shines through the stone arches, vaulted ceilings, and walls lined with vinyl records, photographs, and tributes to icons such as Amália Rodrigues, Ary dos Santos, and Carlos do Carmo.
Inside, wooden tables and soft lighting set an intimate atmosphere. The evening opens with a set menu celebrating Portuguese gastronomy from the mainland to the islands, including drinks. Afterwards, a new generation of fadistas and skilled guitarists move between fado vadio and professional performances, ensuring every night offers a unique experience.
