Cruise Tourism for a Better Future
By supporting local businesses, fostering education, and preserving cultural heritage, we ensure that the benefits of cruise tourism reach beyond the present, leaving a valuable legacy for future generations. Believing in the power of collaboration and responsible practices, we work with our partners to shape a future where cruise tourism enriches lives, supports communities, and protects the environment.
The Lisbon Cruise Terminal (LCP) believes that its infrastructure should be a vibrant space accessible to the entire city. To this end, we have established a solid collaboration with the Junta de Freguesia de Santa Maria Maior, our local partner, to promote well-being and community integration.
This partnership has materialized in the holding of sports and leisure events open to the public, transforming the areas surrounding the Terminal into a meeting point for health and social interaction.
We recently hosted hugely successful, Zumba Classes, which mobilized the local community and demonstrated the potential of our space for outdoor activities. This initiative not only encouraged physical exercise but also strengthened the social fabric of the parish.
With the aim of going further, the collaboration with the Junta de Freguesia de Santa Maria Maior will continue to bring more events and surprises to the community in the coming months. We are committed to diversifying the range of activities, ensuring that the Lisbon Cruise Port remains an active agent in enriching the social and sporting life of Santa Maria Maior.
The Lisbon Cruise Port (LCP) reinforced its commitment to sustainability and environmental responsibility by actively participating in the International Coastal Cleanup Day. In an action that demonstrates community engagement and dedication to the marine environment, the LCP team joined volunteers at Algés beach to collect litter and waste. This initiative underscores our vision to promote cruise tourism that not only enriches the local economy but also actively protects coastal and river ecosystems. Participating in this global day of action reflects LCP’s conviction in the importance of responsible practices for building a cleaner and more sustainable future for all.
The Lisbon Cruise Port (LCP) embraces its role as an active pillar in the community, promoting sustainable development and supporting education through its social action program. We recognize our state-of-the-art infrastructure as a valuable resource and, therefore, structure our visits to generate maximum impact across different audiences. For nurseries and institutions, the focus is eminently social and community-oriented, providing playful moments and the first safe contact with the port environment, a gesture of inclusion from the earliest age. Conversely, for students and older audiences, the Terminal serves as a technical-educational laboratory. These specialized visits offer the opportunity to explore the building’s award-winning architectural design and, above all, the complex operational logistics, demonstrating the rigorous safety and security standards and the necessary management for international passenger traffic. By segmenting these experiences, we ensure that the LCP actively contributes to civic education, inspires future careers, and reinforces its commitment to being a social and educational partner of the city of Lisbon.
