The Associação do Património e da População de Alfama invites you to an unforgettable afternoon of music and tradition. Come and hear the very best of Fado at Beco do Mexias!
To speak of Alfama is to speak of the very birth of Fado. Amongst its alleys and lanes, the neighbourhood breathes the “saudade”, history, and joy that have shaped Lisbon’s identity. This event celebrates this living heritage, bringing music to the heart of the district, where Fado is born in its most authentic form, close to the people.
On 11 April, at 03PM, Beco do Mexias will be the stage for this great celebration.
We are privileged to feature the voices of: Judite Maria, José Matoso, Anabela Silva, Vitor Manoel, Rita Luz, Jaime Alves e Maria Inês. Accompanying this line-up of fadistas will be: Luís Manuel on the Portuguese Guitar and Vítor Pereira on the Viola.
Admission is free, upholding the spirit of unity and sharing that defines our community. Join us to celebrate the living heritage of Lisbon.
